Footshop, one of Central Europe’s leading sneaker and streetwear retailers, has successfully launched a new AutoStore system supplied and implemented by Kardex. The solution enables faster order fulfillment, higher warehouse performance, and improved operational efficiency.
As Footshop expanded its e-commerce operations and product portfolio, it needed a scalable logistics solution that could support future growth, increase productivity, and reduce reliance on manual handling.
As Footshop’s first major warehouse automation project, the implementation required close collaboration, training, and knowledge transfer. Kardex supported the team throughout installation, commissioning, and testing to ensure a smooth transition to automated operations.
Kardex designed an AutoStore solution tailored to Footshop’s requirements. The system primarily stores footwear from premium brands, with each bin accommodating up to eight shoe boxes.
The installation includes:
The solution manages thousands of footwear SKUs while maximizing storage density and providing rapid access to inventory.
Kardex worked closely with Footshop to understand its operational requirements and growth ambitions. The project represents an important milestone for both companies and further strengthens the presence of AutoStore technology in the Czech market.
The AutoStore system was installed within a fully operational warehouse. Careful planning, communication, and coordination allowed Footshop’s daily operations to continue throughout the installation. Despite the complexity of the brownfield environment, the project progressed smoothly through commissioning, testing, and go-live.
By automating storage and retrieval processes, Footshop has significantly improved warehouse efficiency and created a scalable platform for future growth. Key benefits include:
With the system now fully operational, Footshop is well positioned to support continued growth while maintaining high service levels across Europe.
The successful completion of the project reflects the dedication and collaboration of the Footshop and Kardex teams.
Marek Stefan, Project Manager from the Kardex implementation team, said:
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported this project. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional, dedicated, and supportive team. I am proud to be part of this success and look forward to many more projects together.”
