Fischer Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG, the specialist producer of heatsinks, aluminum cases and connectors, has appointed Kardex Mlog as general contractor to construct a single-aisle, small-parts shuttle warehouse with more than 4,000 bin storage spaces at the company’s headquarters in Lüdenscheid. The system to be installed is the extremely space-efficient and scalable shuttle system designed by Rocket Solution, and is expected to be available for productive use by the beginning of July 2026, just four months after commencement of assembly.
The plastic bins, which have been stored in manually operated storage areas until now, will be stored and staged fully automatically. With the modular-construction RSX shuttle system designed by Rocket Solution, Fischer Elektronik is implementing a solution that can be extended at any time and comfortably exceeds the specified objectives.
Ten shuttle vehicles will travel on ten levels to store and retrieve the 600x400x220 mm (LxBxH) plastic bins. The individual storage and conveying levels are to be connected with a bin lift. The system will achieve a throughput of at least 240 bins per hour (storage and retrieval). Quadruple-deep storage of the bins will ensure optimal use of the space in the existing hall. The plant is controlled via a state-of-the-art app-based interface with an intuitive operating concept and real-time visualization of all system statuses. The shuttles have onboard dash cams.
The family-owned Fischer Elektronik company specializes in the manufacture of corrosion and scratch-protected heatsinks, aluminum housings, and connectors. In addition, round heatsink geometries are developed and manufactured specifically for the lighting industry. The company supplies customers in the electrical and electronics industry worldwide. The range includes more than 75,000 different articles. For more information, see www.fischerelektronik.de.
