The ideal partner for individual storage and materials handling solutions

LogiMAT 2013: Focus on future proofing

Kardex Mlog presents adaptable warehouse engineering Neuenstadt – Kardex Mlog attracts attention at LogiMAT 2013 with a new focal point. The supplier of material flow control systems and high-bay warehouses, well-established as a general contractor, also focuses on conveyor technology in Stuttgart and shows how much potential there is in the “peripheral disciplines”.

Those who know Kardex Mlog as a system supplier and manufacturer of high quality storage and retrieval machines will be surprised by an exhibit on the Kardex Group stand in Hall 1/651 showing live state-of-the-art conveyor equipment. There are good reasons for the unfamiliar focal point: CEO Hans-Jürgen Heitzer explains the trade fair concept as follows: “We wanted to demonstrate once again that as a general contractor we can handle all project work down to the last detail”. But above all, the concept of the dynamic, future-proof plant can be demonstrated by the conveying equipment – a strategic approach, which is reflected in all Kardex Mlog’s storage systems.

Flexible warehouse engineering
In line with the principle: “A warehouse must meet needs – and not only today’s ones”, Kardex Mlog plans and installs systems which can flexibly adapt to the changing demands on capacity, performance and load. The conveying equipment in particular reflects this. The demo conveyor system is not only robust and durable in design but is also designed to be highly flexible. For example, the decentralised drive technology is designed so that its expansion can be implemented flexibly and at minimum installation cost. In addition, all drives can be frequency controlled, thus allowing for short-term individualised adaptation to the nature of the load, utilisation level and required throughput.

Reduced operating costs
As a point of principle, all Kardex Mlog conveyor systems are equipped with state-of-the-art components and electronic control systems from leading German manufacturers. This ensures a low risk of failure and a high long-term availability of spare parts. Plug-in drives and sensors are used. They can be easily replaced if there is a defect or during subsequent refurbishment, which makes the system easy to maintain and reduces servicing and repair costs. Operating costs can be reduced by implementing advanced energy concepts such as energy-optimised intelligent control or by recovering the energy released when lowering the lifting carriage.

Integrated systems
Integrated material flow control systems are another key feature of Kardex Mlog’s trade fair presentation. Joint developments such as the highly dynamic AKL MDynamic will also provide plenty to talk about again this year. Heitzer is looking forward to meeting visitors to the trade fair: “LogiMAT is a special event for us every year. The discussions and exchange of information with our partners and customers on site always provide inspiration for new developments”.

In 2013, Kardex Mlog once again provides a highlight of the trade show in the form of its now traditional stand party. You are invited to join us at 17:00 h on Wednesday 20 February 2013.

The Kardex Mlog stand is located in Hall 1, stand 651.
