Due to the company’s great growth and a product range that was expanded to by now 100,000 items, Replacedirect was faced with the challenge to modernize its warehouse so it can master the greater requirements. To achieve fast shipments as well as simultaneous storage and retrieval, Replacedirect decided on an automated combination with warehouse shuttles and horizontal carousels from Kardex Remstar.
Moreover, to boost accuracy, pick-to-light and put-to-light displays were incorporated to visualize important picking information in the system. The customized storage solution from Kardex Remstar allows for the quick, accurate, and simultaneous storage and retrieval of orders and repairs from private and business customers as well as dealers. To this end additional, external monitors display the incoming and accessed flows of goods in the respective colors, which equally boosts the information flow and the precision. Depending on whether the parts are to be shipped or repaired, they are transported to the pertinent departments via an automated conveyor belt system. Up to 2,000 orders are processed in this manner.
