Kardex Launches Intuitive Picking Assistant for Kardex Shuttle

Kardex, a global leader in intralogistics solutions, announces the launch of the Intuitive Picking Assistant for Kardex Shuttle, a new operator assistance solution designed to provide intuitive visual guidance directly at the access opening of the Kardex Shuttle.

First introduced at LogiMAT 2026 in Stuttgart, one of Europe’s leading trade fairs for intralogistics and process management, the new solution attracted strong interest from visitors and industry professionals looking for user-friendly picking innovations.

The Intuitive Picking Assistant (IPA) for Kardex Shuttle introduces a new approach to human-machine interaction by displaying visual work instructions directly at the access opening of the machine. Operators receive highlighted pick locations, quantity information, and virtual confirmation prompts directly within their field of view, eliminating the need to switch between the access opening and a separate control unit. Integrated camera technology detects hand movements in real time and provides immediate visual feedback to help prevent incorrect picks.

By combining visual guidance with intuitive interaction, the solution helps reduce picking errors, supports faster onboarding of new operators, and contributes to a more ergonomic and user-friendly working environment.

“The Intuitive Picking Assistant for Kardex Shuttle reflects our ambition to create automation solutions that are not only efficient, but also intuitive and easy to use,” said Philipp Hobitz, Product Manager Kardex Shuttle, at Kardex. “As warehouse operations become more complex, companies are looking for technologies that simplify workflows and support operators directly where the work happens.”

The solution also uses an ergonomic interaction pad at the access opening, designed to improve operator comfort during picking activities. In combination with the projected user interface, the system creates a modern and streamlined picking experience.

The IPA for Kardex Shuttle is designed for the Kardex Shuttle equipped with the Total Intelligence Concept (TIC) controller and is initially available for selected standard machine configurations in Europe, with global availability planned for the end of 2026. It is compatible with the Kardex Power Pick Cloud and selected Kardex Power Pick System software solutions.
