JB's Wear Prepares for the Future of Fulfilment with AutoStore™

9 August 2026, News,Company News

JB's Wear has selected Kardex to deliver an AutoStore™ solution that will strengthen its fulfilment capabilities while supporting the next stage of its growth.

Every day, thousands of Australians head to work wearing JB's Wear apparel. From construction sites and warehouses to schools, hospitality venues, and sporting clubs, the family-owned Australian business has become one of the country's leading suppliers of quality workwear.

As demand continues to grow, JB's Wear sought an automation partner capable of delivering more than technology. The business required a solution that could be implemented within a live distribution centre while maintaining daily operations, store full cartons of apparel, and efficiently fulfil B2B orders.

Working closely with the JB's Wear team, Kardex took the time to understand the operational details behind the business before developing a tailored automation strategy. The collaborative approach resulted in an AutoStore™ solution designed specifically around the company's current operation while providing the flexibility to support future growth.

The installation will include:

  • 18,400 bins,
  • 25 R5+ robots,
  • 4 CarouselPorts
  • 2 ConveyorPorts
  • 4 Kardex Intuitive Picking Assistants for AutoStore (IPA)
  • Kardex Warehouse Execution System (WES).

"As our business continues to grow, choosing the right partner was just as important as choosing the right technology. Kardex took the time to understand our business, ask the right questions, and design a solution tailored to our operational needs. That level of engagement gave us confidence we were making the right long-term investment," says David Smith, Operations Manager, JB’s Wear.

"Every business is different. By understanding how JB's Wear operates today and where it wants to go tomorrow, we've been able to design a solution that supports both its immediate needs and long-term ambitions. That's what strong partnerships are built on," states Grant Smith, Director Business Development AutoStore, Kardex.
