The Intuitive Picking Assistant (IPA) takes picking processes to the next level. By projecting all relevant information directly into the operator’s working area, it provides intuitive, step-by-step guidance throughout the picking process.

High picking performance and accuracy are essential for efficient order fulfillment. However, picking can be labor-intensive and time-consuming, while staff shortages and picking errors create additional challenges.

The Intuitive Picking Assistant follows the principle of a Natural User Interface (NUI), enabling operators to interact with the system without an additional display or keyboard. Employees receive clear guidance and immediate confirmation at every step, helping to reduce training requirements and picking errors while improving ergonomics and overall performance.

Available for both the Kardex Shuttle and AutoStore, the Intuitive Picking Assistant brings these benefits to different picking environments.

Using projection and intelligent 3D camera technology, it displays relevant information directly at the picking area and guides operators step by step through each task. Immediate visual feedback helps reduce search times and picking errors, while intuitive, touch-free operation simplifies training and onboarding.

Two versions are available for different automated storage solutions:

The IPA for Kardex Shuttle projects information directly onto the surface at the machine’s access opening. It highlights the exact storage location and displays the required quantity and other order-related details. The system detects the operator’s hand movements and immediately alerts them to incorrect locations or actions.

The IPA for AutoStore supports operators directly at the AutoStore port. It projects clear picking instructions onto the workstation and uses 3D camera technology to detect hand movements, verify each step, and provide immediate feedback.

Both solutions can be adapted to individual users and operational requirements, helping you increase productivity, improve picking accuracy, and create more ergonomic working conditions.
