Office Solution Megamat (Formerly Lektreiver)

The Kardex Megamat 115 / 120 / 125 (formerly Lektriever) is a software-controlled automated media storage and retrieval system that holds thousands of media files, videos, CDs, DVDs, or a host of other media.

Its capacity is equivalent to approximately 16 four-drawer filing cabinets. It operates in a stand-alone mode or networked to an IT system. It is as easy to operate as a printer -  simply click on the requested file or media type and the Megamat 115 / 120 /125 (formerly Lektriever) will search, select, and retrieve the requested item.

Standard VCM Components & Features

The Kardex Megamat 115/120/125 includes a built-in safety system that continually monitors the unit’s operation. With a maximum safety stopping distance of just ±0.59", the system is designed to ensure rapid response and maximum operator protection.

Key features include: access light, emergency stop buttons, imbalance monitoring, mechanical safety bars, dual infrared photocells, and multiple safety switches that prevent movement under unsafe conditions.

Located on both sides of the access opening, the full-height light curtain instantly stops unit movement if the beam is interrupted—whether by an operator or an object.

This protects both personnel and goods, especially when items protrude from the storage space.

In case of power failure or electronic malfunction, the emergency hand crank allows for manual operation of the carriers. A built-in micro switch ensures the unit remains non-operational during crank use, even if power is restored—ensuring complete operator safety.

The standard dual-panel sliding door is lockable, self-counterbalancing, and easy to operate with one hand. It protects stored goods from dust and unauthorized access. Upper and lower door panels function as mechanical safety switches, automatically triggering a system stop upon contact during operation.

 

The Megamat 115/120/125 includes a standard, user-friendly control interface located at the work counter. Optional mounting positions are available—overhead or on a side-mounted swingarm—making the interface flexible to your workspace needs and easily accessible for all operators.

Work Counter Options

Fixed Standing Work Counter

Work Counter supplied at a fixed location of 39.4" from floor with a light gray laminate top. Optional stainless-steel top available. 

Fixed Seated Work Counter

Work Counter supplied at a fixed location of 29.5" from floor with a light gray laminate top. Optional stainless steel top available. 

Mechanically Adjustable Work Counter

The MAWC is adjustable between the lowest seated height (29.5 inches) and the highest standing height (39.4 inches). The operator can adjust the counter in 2 inch increments anywhere in between. This allows any person, regardless of height, ergonomic access to stored goods.  

The counter is easy to reposition and only requires one person for operation. Vertical movement is assisted by a helical torsion spring to minimize operator effort. The torsion spring stores mechanical energy to be used during the vertical movement requiring less manual effort for the end user. The release mechanism requires less than two pounds of force to disengage for vertical movement. The work counter is fully supported by steel reinforcement to eliminate any deflection of the work counter during the life of the unit. 

Work Counter Removed

The work counter can be removed if so desired. Access opening location of either 29.5" or 39.4" from floor. 

Fold Down Work Counter

Folding Work Counter is available in either the seated or standing position, but is hinged to fold down and away when not needed. This is ideal in areas which are tighter than normal.

Letter or Legal Carrier for Side Tab Folders

Lateral Carriers used for filing end (side) tab letter size folders in a left to right configuration.

These carriers utilize fixed welded dividers for reinforcement. 

Additional dividers may be ordered with these carriers to support the folders and are adjustable on 2-inch centers.

File Drawer Carriers For Top Tab Folders

Pull-out file drawer carriers are designed for front-to-back, top-tab filing and are suitable for both letter- and legal-size folders.

This option is available exclusively with the 11" pitch Model 125. Letter-size folders can also be stored in legal-size drawer carriers if mixed-media storage is required.

Each carrier includes two drawers, and each drawer contains three rows for front-to-back filing.

Every compartment comes equipped with a follower to keep folders upright and neatly organized.

  • Maximum folder height (including top tab): 10.19” (259 mm)
  • Clear depth per row: 13.97” (355 mm)

Hanging Frame Carrier for Pendaflex Folders

Pull-out hanging frame carriers are designed for front-to-back hanging file storage and are compatible with both letter- and legal-size folders.

This option is available exclusively with the 11" pitch Model 125.

Each carrier includes two drawers, and each drawer provides three rows for front-to-back filing. (Refer to the chart for additional configuration options.)

  • Maximum folder height (including top tab): 10.23” (260 mm)
  • Clear depth per row: 14.37” (365 mm)

Multipurpose Carrier

A universal design allowing lateral, multi‐tier or standard tray filing applications.

Multipurpose Carriers accept dividers on 1” centers, distance rails, additional shelves, etc. and are designed to allow reconfiguration for other applications without removal or replacement of the carrier.
