How It Works

AutoCase automates case handling within the AutoStore grid, allowing cases to be stored and retrieved without manually opening and decanting their contents into AutoStore bins.

Incoming cases travel by conveyor to AutoCase, where each case is secured and placed into an AutoStore bin for storage in the grid.

When inventory is needed, the bin can be routed to a standard AutoStore port for picking from the case, or returned to AutoCase, where the case is extracted from the bin for downstream handling. A lift and pusher mechanism accommodates different case sizes and moves cases into and out of the bin without manual handling.

Orchestrate Case Handling with Kardex FulfillX

Kardex FulfillX WES orchestrates inventory and order workflows across AutoStore, AutoCase, ports, and downstream processes. Working with AutoStore's equipment controls, Fulfillx coordinates inventory based on order priorities and operational requirements, the WES determines what inventory needs to move, where it should go, and when it should be released.

Together, AutoCase and Kardex FulfillX can support flexible case flows, including: 

Case Flows Description
Full case in → Full case out Store full cases in the grid and retrieve them intact when needed.
Full case in → Eaches out Store inventory in its original case, then route to a port for individual item picking from the split case.
Empty case in → Consolidated order out Introduce an empty case, consolidate picked items into it at the VersaPort, then buffer or release the completed order for outbound fulfillment.
