The 32 metre-tall cold storage warehouse is equipped with two MSINGLE storage and retrieval machines. Conveyor technology connects the new building to the existing warehouse. Existing conveyor technology in the dispatch area was also optimised during the course of the extension.
The 7,000 pallet storage locations in the second warehouse offer enough storage for approximately 50 million portions of ice cream. The dramatic growth of the manufacturer, which, in the meantime, has become one of Europe’s ten largest ice cream producers, will ensure that the warehouse is continuously used to capacity. Even during the 2009 economic crisis, Eisbär Eis increased its turnover by ten percent. Construction of a second cold storage warehouse was originally planned to take place in five years’ time, however due to the company’s positive development and strong expansion, the warehouse was built earlier than planned.
