The ideal partner for individual storage and materials handling solutions

Kardex Remstar LR 35 Vertical Buffer Module - Nominated as Finalist in the UKWA Innovation Award of the Year

‘Innovative response to a changing market ‘

London, UK  3rd June, 2018.  Kardex Remstar is proud to announce that they have been nominated by the UKWA (United Kingdom Warehousing Association) for demonstrating new innovation with its LR 35 Vertical Buffer Module.

The innovation criteria required nominees to demonstrate an innovative response to the changing market through new technology.  Kardex developed the LR35 in direct response to the requirements of an industry on the cusp of an automated revolution by creating solutions which offer enhanced intralogistics and improved workflow practices.
The UKWA Awards recognise and reward excellence in the third party logistics sector, where they attract entries from some of the most influential companies in the logistics and materials handling industry.

Kardex LR 35 is the latest innovation to join the Kardex solution family and is suited to handling single-part or small-volume orders - providing fast and accurate access together with secure storage. The LR 35 can speed up performance, enabling up to 500 order lines per picking station an hour, and is suited for picking small parts from bins, cardboard boxes, and trays in small and medium-sized warehouses. The design consists of a shelf system with automatic bin handling, picking stations, and its own logistics software.  The LR 35 uses its own replenishing solution and each station can be fitted with several access openings.  At the heart of each station is the turntable. While the operator picks one order, the LR 35 prepares the next bin. As soon as the picking process is complete the turntable turns through 180 degrees and the next bin is ready for picking. This permanent access to goods keeps waiting times to a minimum.

“This year, the calibre of submissions has been particularly high,” commented Peter Ward, UKWA CEO. “We usually aim to select three finalists for each category, but in this case felt that outstanding candidates should all be recognised for excellence, even though on the night there can be only one winner for each award!”

There are nine Awards categories open to UKWA members and suppliers to the 3PL sector. The overall winner of each, along with a special Chairman’s Award, will be presented with a trophy by leading political broadcaster Andrew Marr at The UKWA Annual Lunch & Awards. This flagship event for the Association is sponsored by Savills and will be held at London’s Dorchester on Weds 4th July 2018.

Tom Findlay, Kardex Remstar Director UK & Ireland "We are absolutely delighted that the LR35 Vertical Buffer Module has been nominated for the UKKWA’s innovation award.  We pride ourselves in providing customers with the most flexible, secure and scalable storage solutions in the world and receiving this recognition motivates us to keep developing and refining solutions that continue to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
